Anoushé Husain, a civil servant and para-climber, has faced and beaten adversity throughout her life after being born without her right arm and surviving cancer.
Determined not to let her health become an obstacle, Husain took up rock climbing after winning her battle with the disease and is now training to compete for the Team GB paraclimbing team. An ambassador for charities Limb Power and Ehlers-Danlos Support UK, Husain co-founded Paraclimbing London this year to create a ‘safe space’ for differently-abled people to access the sport around the capital. She was included in this year’s Sunday Times Alternative Rich List and has recently caught the media’s attention with her frank and candid public talks about her life, how she has remained resilient in the face of multiple hurdles, and how she strives to prove what can be achieved despite the odds.
